Lyngblomsten Apartments, Inc. operates under section 8/202 of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This means that the adjusted income of tenants must not exceed 30 percent of the monthly rent. That amount is subject to charge.
Qualified tenants are required to pay 30 percent of their income toward the monthly rent (which is determined by HUD). Information regarding income and assets is a part of the preliminary application process. More detailed information will be required later.
Applications are assigned a waiting list number upon receipt by housing staff. Applications are considered in order as vacancies occur. NOTE: Although the Apartments and the Care Center are part of Lyngblomsten, they are separate corporations with separate waiting lists.

Located at the corner of Almond Avenue and Pascal Street in St. Paul, the 105-unit Lyngblomsten Apartments offers security and a sense of community amidst pleasant surroundings.
Security:
- Controlled-access entrances
- An emergency nurse call system in each apartment alerts the housing staff and the Lyngblomsten Care Center staff to medical emergencies.
- A well-lit parking area the front entrance
Community:
- Tenants participate in a mandatory meal program (20 meals a month). Delicious, nutritious meals, planned by a registered dietician, are served daily at noon in the common dining room.
- Home Health Services are available 24 hours a day.
- A buddy system helps neighbors watch out for each other.
- Recreational and educational programs and activities are developed with respect and dignity for the whole person.
- Involved management and staff promote the feeling of a caring family.
- Weekly services include dairy delivery, mobile post office, and weekly shopping trips with the Lyngblomsten bus.
Apartment Features
All apartments have a kitchen with a stove and refrigerator, a bathroom with a shower/tub, carpeting and drapes.
- Each apartment is equipped for a room air conditioner.
- Eight of the apartments are designed for mobility-impaired persons.
- There are six two-bedroom units. HUD requires that they be rented by at least two people. Married couples who want the unit must provide a physician's statement reflecting a medical need.
Other Amenities
- The dining room and lounge areas are centrally air-conditioned.
- Coin-operated washers and dryers are located on three floors of the seven-story building.
- There are lounges on every floor. The building also has recreation and craft rooms and a library for tenants' use.
- An MTC bus stop is just outside the door with easy access to local churches and shopping.
- An enclosed concourse connects the Apartments to the Lyngblomsten Care Center and its services (Coffee/Gift Shop, Beauty/Barber Shop, Chapel, and physical and occupational therapy rooms.)
- An underground walkway connects the Apartments to The Heritage at Lyngblomsten, and to the Lyngblomsten's 5-5-1 Club community center and Chapel.
