Programs/Services
Lyngblomsten provides a continuum of quality senior care through residential facilities and in-home and community programs. From social activities to senior health education to wellness checks and in-home nursing services, to senior housing, transitional care/rehabilitation and long-term health care, Lyngblomsten’s programs are designed to help seniors transition through all their health and living issues as they age. Lyngblomsten is a nonprofit social ministry organization under the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and is partnered in ministry with more then three dozen Twin Cities-area Christian congregations of various denominations. Lyngblomsten is open to people of all faiths and cultures.

The Lyngblomsten Foundation exists to provide ongoing financial support for Lyngblomsten's programs and services for the elderly, including community outreach/support programs (Lyngblomsten Community Center, Parish Nurse Program, Care Team Ministry, Community Wellness and Education, and The Gathering), special construction projects, remodeling plans, scholarships, the Good Samaritan Fund, and much more. Funds must be replenished each year to ensure the continuation of programs not funded by client fees. This is possible through the generosity of dedicated donors who attend our special fund raising events, make a financial contribution as part of their annual giving, or provide support beyond their lifetime through a planned gift (annuity, will or estate).
The Lyngblomsten Auxiliary is an active group of men and women who plan events and manage the Lyngblomsten Gift and Coffee Shop to provide financial support for Lyngblomsten’s programs. The Scandinavian Cookie Fair in December and the Spring and Fall Rummage Sales are regular events organized by the Auxiliary.
Lyngblomsten is blessed with more than 500 volunteers of all ages who contribute their time to help in more than 100 different positions. Many of them come from Lyngblomsten's partner congregations. Their assistance, talent, and enthusiasm help sustain the high quality and loving care found at Lyngblomsten. The work of volunteers ranges from pushing wheelchairs and popping popcorn, to painting fingernails, leading book clubs, delivering mail, assembling mailings, driving the van, serving on a board or committee, and cashiering in the Gift Shop . . . you name it, there’s probably a volunteer involved!
