About Lyngblomsten

Our Mission

Influenced by Christ, Lyngblomsten provides a ministry of compassionate care and innovative services to older adults in order to preserve and enhance their quality of life.

Lyngblomsten is a nonprofit social ministry organization affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America providing quality care to seniors of all faiths and cultures through its healthcare and housing facilities as well as through its outreach programs for seniors living in their own homes or apartments.  We are partnered in ministry with more than three dozen Minneapolis/St. Paul-area Christian congregations.

Lyngblomsten's continuing care campus, located near Como Park Zoo, offers multiple levels of housing and healthcare services with lifestyle choices.  These include a market-rate apartment building, a HUD202/Section 8 subsidized apartment building, and a 24-hour skilled nursing home for transitional/short-term care and long-term care with service houses and Alzheimer's program options.  Campus is also home to the Lyngblomsten Community Center and offices for the outreach programs:  Parish Nurse Ministry, Care Team Ministry, Community Center, Community Wellness and Education, The Gathering and Home Health Services.  The Lyngblomsten Foundation is housed on the main campus as well and provides ongoing financial support for Lyngblomsten's community outreach programs along with support for special construction projects, remodeling plans,  the Good Samaritan Fund, and much more.

Off campus, Lyngblomsten owns and manages Superior Street Cottages in West. St Paul and manages Pioneer Manor in White Bear Lake.

Lyngblomsten is blessed with more than 500 active volunteers of all ages serving in more than 100 different positions.  The Lyngblomsten Men’s and Women’s Auxiliary is made up of volunteers who raise money in support of Lyngblomsten’s services for the elderly through operation of the Lyngblomsten Gift & Coffee Shop, semi-annual rummage sales, and an annual Scandinavian cookie fair.
